Landscape Design Process

The On-Site Consultation

We meet with you at your home or business to introduce ourselves and to get to know you and to understand what your wants, needs and expectations are. Once we experience the site and have an understanding of the scope of your project we will discuss the cost of the design. If we agree together to start the process, we will take measurements of your home or business and all existing elements of your site, as well as take pictures, soil samples, compass readings and elevations (as needed) – essentially doing a detailed site analysis.

Plan Development and Preparation

We meet with you at your home or business to introduce ourselves and to get to know you and to understand what your wants, needs and expectations are. Once we experience the site and have an understanding of the scope of your project we will discuss the cost of the design. If we agree together to start the process, we will take measurements of your home or business and all existing elements of your site, as well as take pictures, soil samples, compass readings and elevations (as needed) – essentially doing a detailed site analysis.

Presentation

We will meet you at our Nursery office or at your home to present the design to you and explain every aspect of the plan in detail. This is the time to make necessary changes to the plan if you see something that does not work for you. Once you approve the design we will provide you with a line item cost quote that enables you to see what each component of your landscape installation costs, helping you understand the process.

Schedule

Together we will schedule your landscape project so that everyone has a clear understanding of the next available start date and estimated completion date. We will order your materials and will take care of most permits if they are required. We require a 50% down payment before we start work.

Build

Our trained installation crews will install your landscape with a commitment to old-fashioned craftsmanship, quality and customer service. If you like, we can do your project in phases and we are comfortable you doing some of the work. The remaining 50% of the project total is due upon completion of the project (or phase). If you (or the site) require a change or variation during the construction process, we will discuss it with you and agree on the cost or credit required.

Maintenance

Once your project is completed we will provide you with our maintenance care sheets and answer any questions or concerns you might have regarding the care requirements of your new landscape. We have a one year warranty on trees, shrubs and evergreens and a two year warranty on hardscape installations.
